    What it’s like

Opened in 1887 as Brixton Hill High School, in 1938 it amalgamated with Clapham High School. The senior school moved in 1994 to a new site adjacent to Tooting Bec Common, where there has been a major building programme to develop facilities for sixth form, sports and music (including a music IT suite and recital hall). The junior department remains at the old Streatham site in adapted buildings. Both departments now have first-class accommodation and resources. Inter-denominational worship is encouraged. Pastoral care is good and a well-balanced, general education is provided. The school offers distance learning in sixth-form subjects, so allowing a broader range of minority subjects. Examination results are very good. There is a substantial commitment to music, drama and art. A range of sports and games is offered and there are a number of extra-curricular activities including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.
